As a member of Bounce Fitness Gym, I can observe the management functions of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling in action.
Planning: The gym management team regularly plans activities and programs to keep the members engaged and motivated. They plan workout sessions, group fitness classes, and special events like challenges and competitions. The management team also creates a yearly budget plan to ensure financial stability.
Organizing: Bounce Fitness Gym has a well-organized system to manage its resources. The gym has separate workout areas for cardio, strength training, and group classes. There are different sections for free weights, machines, and functional training equipment. The management team ensures that the gym is always clean, well-maintained, and has the necessary equipment in good condition.
Leading: The gym's management team leads by example, promoting a culture of health and fitness. The trainers and staff are highly motivated and committed to providing the best services
to members. The management team encourages a friendly and supportive environment, where members can connect with each other and achieve their fitness goals.
Controlling: The management team regularly monitors the gym's performance to ensure that it meets the expected standards. They keep track of member attendance and satisfaction,

Expectancy Theory:
Expectancy theory suggests that an individual's motivation to perform a task is based on the belief that effort will lead to high performance, and high performance will lead to desirable outcomes. If any of these links are broken, it can lead to demotivation. As a Canadian, I can give the following real-life examples from my past experiences when each of the three links was broken, leading to demotivation.
Expectancy Link - When I was working as a salesperson, I was given a sales target to achieve within a month. However, the company did not provide any training or support to improve my sales skills. I felt that even if I put in the effort, I would not be able to achieve the target. As a result, my motivation to work decreased.
Instrumentality Link - In another job, I was promised a promotion if I achieved certain targets. I put in a lot of effort to achieve the targets, but when I did, the company did not fulfill their promise of promoting me. This made me feel that my effort was wasted, and I lost motivation to
work for the company.

Valence Link - In yet another job, I was promised a bonus if I achieved a certain level of sales. However, when I received the bonus, I found out that it was much less than what I was expecting. This made me feel that the effort I put in was not worth it, and I lost motivation to work hard for the company in the future.
Self-Actualization Needs:
Self-actualization needs are the highest level of needs in Maslow's hierarchy, and they refer to the need for individuals to reach their full potential and achieve personal growth. Two examples of self-actualization needs are:
Pursuing a creative hobby or passion outside of work, such as painting, writing, or playing music.
Pursuing education or learning opportunities to improve skills or knowledge in a particular area of interest.
Satisfiers and Dis-satisfiers:
Herzberg's theory suggests that there are two factors that influence job satisfaction and motivation - satisfiers and dis-satisfiers. Satisfiers are factors that lead to
job satisfaction, such as recognition, achievement, and responsibility. Dis-satisfiers are factors that lead to job dissatisfaction, such as low pay, poor working conditions, and lack of job security. Based on my past experience, a real-life example of satisfiers is

Equal Work/Equal Compensation:
The principle of equal work/equal compensation suggests that employees who perform the same job should receive the same pay, regardless of their gender, race, or other personal characteristics. This principle does not contradict the principle of compensation based on qualifications and skills level of employees, as these factors are taken into account when determining an employee's pay. Compensation based on qualifications and skills level of employees is important to ensure that employees are paid based on their contribution to the company and the value they bring to their role.
Motivation Theory:
The scenario of a manager training a subordinate on his/her work falls under the social learning theory of motivation. This theory suggests that individuals learn by observing others and imitating their behavior. In this scenario, the subordinate is learning from the manager's behavior and is motivated to perform better in their job. This also demonstrates the importance
of role models in the workplace, as they can have a significant impact on the motivation and behavior of their subordinates.
