4 Canvas Student Question 14 What has research concluded about the Big Five across languages and cultures? That they translate and are recognizable in European languages but not Asian, Middle Eastern, or Native American. That they are extractable in several European and Asian languages but agreeableness was better defined as honesty and humility. That the factor structure of the Big Five is variable across cultures and depends largely upon whether or not the culture is collectivistic or individualistic. That conscientiousness is a largely western notion and most likely develops due to a “winner takes all, look out for number one” mentality.
