Juvenile Justice:

School resource officers
: a sworn law enforcement officer whose primary
responsibility is the safety and security of the students and staff of the school to which they are assigned. 2.
School-to-prison pipeline: This theory states that high-risk students ( usually minorities or low-income students) are subject to disciplinary actions more frequently than white students. Which in turn causes a higher
dropout rate and ends up with them being introduced into the criminal justice system. 3.
Juvenile rights
: Juveniles have similar rights to adults, such as:

Being informed of their rights and the charges against them. 2.
To be represented by an attorney

To confront their accuser and cross-examine witnesses
4.
To refuse to testify against themselves

Status offenses:
Is an offense that would not be a crime if they were committed by an adult. Common examples of status offenses include underage drinking, skipping school, and violating a local curfew law. ●
Allied Professionals:

Victim's rights advocates
give victims access to a variety of services to assist them in dealing with the uncertainties of life after being a victim, including information on the criminal justice system, resources for counseling and healing (particularly for victims of serious crimes), legal rights information, and more. b.
Counselors/psychologists
help with convicts in the units on daily matters such as
getting a prison job, managing their prison budget, and making a visiting phone list. Psychologists use psychological concepts and facts to influence recommendations, explain witness testimony, counsel officers during interrogations, and, in general, provide insight into the private compartments of the human brain when called upon.

Goodwill ambassadors
are volunteer county employees who work as ambassadors during large events, demonstrations, rallies, and elections. They advocate for social welfare efforts, they do not have any requirements to have an area of expertise in any particular area of subject. 2.

: Court-appointed to assist in keeping an eye on someone during an ongoing case. They represent the person's interests but are not their attorney. The interaction between the criminal judicial system and the guardian ad litem. They conduct
an investigation based on their findings. Guardians and things can have a significant impact on the case's decision and consequences.

They operate inside the court system to assess an individual's mental competency for trial. They can testify as an expert witness and act as advocates. When dealing with someone who may not be able to stand trial because they have little grasp of what is going on, the criminal justice system and counselors/psychologists work together as a team. working with youth because they do not always know how to express themselves properly. So, in short, anyone who has contact with youth should be using active listening skills. ●
Why should active listening be used?
To fully communicate with the youth, active listening skills need to be used to ensure that communication from both parties is fully expressed. Explain how cultural awareness is an important communication skill in your topic.
Why is cultural awareness important? Cultural awareness is important so that we can research
a person’s culture to understand their thought processes, beliefs and ways of life. Understanding one's cultural differences makes the transition smooth. Also understanding the situation and cultural awareness is important to be able to communicate.
