1) Using the table below, calculate the expected time for all the activities (20 points). Expected time = (o+4r+p)/6 2. a. Using above data, manually draw a network diagram for the above activities. (10 points).
b. Calculate the earliest completion times for each of the activities listed above (15 points). Earliest completion times: A = 6 B =6+7 = 13 C = 6+6= 12 D = 6+5 = 11 E = 11+8 = 19 F = 19+7 = 26 G = 19+5 = 24 H = 19+4 = 23 I = 26+4 = 30 J = 30+8= 38 c. Calculate latest completion times for each of the activities listed above A =11-5 = 6 B =30-13 = 17 C =19-12 =7 D = 19-8 = 11 E = 26-7 = 19 F = 30-4= 26 G = 30-4 = 26 H = 30-8 = 30 I = 38 -8 = 30 J = 38 d. Calculate slack times for each of the activities listed above A =6-6 =0 B =38-8 = 30 C =26-7= 19 D = 11-11=0 E = 19-19=0
F = 26-26 =0 G = 26-24 =2 H = 30-23= 7 J = 30-30=0 I = 38-38=0 e. Indicate the activities that is/are in the critical path A – D- E- F- I = J f. Using project management software, draw a Gantt chart for these activities g. Using project management software, draw network diagram for these activities

h. Compare your hand-drawn network diagram with the one generated using project management software A hand-drawn network diagram makes it easier to see what activity must be completed before starting a new activity. It looks more ‘3D’. It looks more ‘busy’ with all the calculations, but it provides a good context of the order of activities. The diagram generated with project management software looks more ‘flat’ and clean. It is a bit harder to identify what activities must be completed first before moving to the next one. This diagram shows critical paths in different colors, and it makes it stand out.
