Four main factors to consider when creating a solid virtual team.
Effective Communication, respect and trust, Coordination, Team building
ALTERNATIVES

locate them easier;
Add another session that best suits
everyone, not just meeting sessions for
work.
In the case of Shelia, the new teams should
(Scandura, 2022)(Dwoskin, 2021)
virtual work actually boost production
CONCLUSION

made to improve teamwork;
Sheila needs to learn to trust her team member more;
The virtual team has to implement measures to increase
interactions outside of the work routine, to increase
interactions so that team trust can be built up despite the
virtual teams' shortcomings in an environment where virtual
teams have become increasingly omnipresent.

QUESTION 1
How does trust and respect facilitate the virtual teams’ ability to operate?
Trust and respect facilitate the virtual teams ability to operate because in different team
members will work together is virtual and these are located in the same place, trust and
respect play an essential role in how effectively teams will operate. Teams need to help
each other resolve any issues and trust everyone on doing their task instead of
undermining or underestimating them. They should not interrupt the work of others.
Success and trust will strongly contribute to the team.
QUESTION 2
What processes and procedures are important to making the teamwork?
The processes and procedures are important to making the teams work are full awareness
of understanding of their role/position in the team, Procedures and policies are put into
place to make sure that everything is successful instead of everyone lacking on their part.
Since Sheila works on various teams, she communicates with her teams via email, phone
and web meetings occasionally. There is also a policy in place for parts not being able to be
received. This is a great procedure to have in place because everyone is on the same page
instead of being unsure.
QUESTION 3
Why do you think Sheila is having trouble in her role on the new team?
Sheila is having trouble in her role on the new team because there is no communication
involved for her to receive all the knowledge that the other team members possess. Sheila
is unaware of where the parts are being shipped from so that also makes her job hard. This
new team seems to be more of individuality versus a team or group because each person
has to find their own problem and solution instead of collaborating.

QUESTION 4
What factors should you consider when putting together a virtual team?
The factors you should consider when putting together a virtual team are communication
must be enforced even though it maybe a challenge. A schedule needs to be specific so they
can meet for a week overview at least twice a week. Trust is important because if it isn’t
present the team will not be on one accord. Virtual teams need coordination because things
need to be planned out for it to roll smoothly.
