With the network topology, we will be needing a network that can withstand an outage on one
node but still be able to continue to work. We would implement a star topology for each department in
the corporation.
This means if a node goes down with redundancy and we can continue to perform daily
duties.
Today’s world will have a WAN and a LAN. Each of the LAN will have and IP address as

LAN is 192.168.x.0/24 and for the WAN the IP will be 192.168.255.x/30. We will implement five
routers to the network. The routers will have five switches with two workstations on each switch.
On each new section that has been added there will be a wireless connection. With the wireless
connection we will implement a passphrase to secure the network. Each location will have their
own separate IP address to help with keeping the system more secure.
Users we have will be barred from making any adjusted to any of the IP address and will
strictly be used by the IT department. To accomplish this will be using Active Directory to build
user accounts, groups, and etc. Each of these groups will not be able to access any of this
information with group policies being made.
By making all these changes we believe this will make the system more scalability,
meaning we can add on in the future. Not only scalability, but we will be able to secure the
network more by using separate IP addresses and creating group policies within the Active
Directory so no one can accidentally edit an IP address except for the IT department.
