Hello Class, What was the most useful takeaway for you from this workshop’s reading?
The most interesting chapter for me this week was Chapter 3. Specifically the section on web site privacy policies. This is a section that highlights the legality of information being collected on users of internet sights and who they can share the information with. These policies also highlight the type of personal data a business can collect from their users. We have all done it but maybe we should take a little more time to actually read through these policies before mindlessly clicking the acknowledge box. I have no idea the type of information most sites have access too or what they are doing with the information they collect from my use.
What concept from the reading is the most applicable to you now in your profession, and how might you implement it?
In my current line of work Chapter 2 is probably the most important section of reading this week. While most the work items I deal with are unclassified, I do work for a defensive contractor that does deal with confidential information. Encryption is used in our email servers and our passwords are changed often as well.
