Q1) What is Cryptolocker? What are the three ways to protect yourself from ransomware infection?
Answer: A cryptoLocker is a type of trojan ransomware that can encrypt files on an affected system and will ask for a form of ransom and then would allow users to retrieve their data. One way to protect yourself is to back up your important data. Another way is to filter your email so that you do not open it. Exes. One last way is to show hidden file extensions. These file extensions can show if the email is spam, and many contain a form of ransomware. Q2) What is a Brute Force Attack? What are the ways you can make it harder for someone to use crack your credentials using a Brute force attack?
Answer: A brute force attack is when a hacker uses a program that will relatedly try random combinations to crack a user’s password. One way to protect yourself is to make strong passwords that are not predictable. Another way is to have a limited number of attempts to enter your password. One last way is to utilize two-factor authentication so that even if they get
the password correct, they have to complete another form of authentication.
Q3) What is Phishing? What are the three types of phishing discussed in the activity?
Answer: Phishing is when hackers will send emails that contain a virus that will infect your computer. Hackers can use emails to distribute malicious files. The three types of phishing are deceptive, spear phishing, and pharming.
Q4) What is a Data Breach? Mention the three biggest data breaches of all time. What should companies do to protect your data from Data breaches? (Hint: CyberStory – Data Breach)
Answer: A data breach is an event where information is stolen or accessed by unauthorized parties. To protect yourself you should implement the use of firewalls, Ide, and IPSs. You should
understand your overall surface attack area and prepare defenses.
Q5) Review one tutorial from the website and briefly explain how it makes you a safe Internet user.

Answer: The topic I chose was online gaming. To secure online gaming, you should:
Encrypt critical game data
Minimize client’s data
Create a security tutorial for the players
Complex password policy
Audit trails and logs
Patching bugs
Always use an antivirus software on your computer.
Be prudent when opening files and links sent by other users over instant messaging of game.
Validate authenticity of the new release of software’s.
