Fighting the Digital Divide
I will use the money to close the gap to ensure digital literacy skills and equitable
access for students. Addressing the digital divide in the school district is effective if I use
some of the money to ensure students receive the training, they need to operate computers
and use them in the learning process. By focusing on equitable access, I will ensure that
learners have the technical resources they need to use digital platforms and provide
improvements in their learning experiences (Mucetti, 2017). I will use the money to address
all three problems inherent in the digital divide. With excellent budgeting and planning, the
five million grants will ensure the best information accessibility, utilization, and
receptiveness for students in the school district (Mucetti, 2017). The method will work well
with all the challenges addressed for successful student outcomes.
I am targeting the disadvantaged and marginalized students in the school district. A
considerable population of learners from marginalized settings need more resources to access
digital learning materials and improve their grades in school (Mucetti, 2017). By using the
grant, one can identify such populations to train them in digital literacy skills. The practice
also fosters equity by providing the learners with the technical support they need to access
learning information and apply it practically in school. Offering such support and developing
technological platforms for the same creates opportunities to help such learners and ensure
they succeed like their peers (Mucetti, 2017). The dynamics make them the ideal students for
the program.
