Unit 11 Forum
Find a video of a public speaker that you think is effective and persuasive. (Ted Talks
are a great source.) Analyze the speaker's performance, consider:
What elements of the presentation stood out?
What was strongest: the presentation's content or the presenter's
mannerisms?
Did the presenter use visual aids? Did they support the presenter's content?
Did the speaker engage the audience? If so, how?
How can you apply these exemplars to your own presentation (in this course
and in the future)?
Craft your analysis into a few paragraphs and paste a link to the video and your written
analysis into the Forum post.
I am a big fan of SRK and I love the way he speaks. He uses very simple
examples and humor to make people understand very crucial and important
messages. I really loved this video as this was one of the video I am seeing
for the first time. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to discuss
this as a part of this forum. I really like the way you have identified each and
every small detail which often gets unnoticed. I really liked your idea of being
confident. I also feel confidence is the key especially when you are delivering
something. I was in that situation and I can tell you how difficult and
important at the same time it is to have confidence when the spotlight is on
you and everyone is looking at you.
The good part is we need to remember always that we are the driver of the
presentation and it is our responsibility to make people engaged. Sometimes,
things doesn't operate the same way people leave their seats and audience
lose interest in your speech, at that time it is very important to take that
feedback and try to modify the style of presentation if possible to make
people listen and enjoy the talk.
Once again thank you for writing about this video.
