will be the benefits?

a) List what you are likely to see when visiting a lean plant.

Nike is a producer of athletic clothing and shoes over the world. Nike has
merged with NGOs and manufacturers for sustainability issues.

By approaching lean manufacturing as a part of a sustainability initiative, the
company reduced its production time and waste.

However, the factory productivity increased by 15 to 20 percent but the new
product to the factory was reduced by 30 percent.

Nike introduced recycled waste using it in a form of footwear or clothing. Still,
delivery times from factories were 30 percent slower.

With lean management, Nike has adopted “better manufacturing” and also
changed its approach to a few targets, including business and marketing
strategies.
b) How will their current Value Stream look like?

Nike’s brand value is around 33 billion U.S dollars. So from the beginning up
to till date, there are many factors and departments which are being changed
and worked on.

Their management is divided into two parts support activities and primary
activities.

Their main focus is on support activities which include technology
development, human resources, and firm infrastructure.

After then comes primary activities in the role; logistics, operations,
marketing, and sales.

Final stage is the margin and the investment in sustainability procedures will
directly affect pricing and would burn the pants of customers for a good
cause.
