1.
Identify a problem-solving technique or method you have used in a previous situation and explain how it helped
you. How might problem-solving methods be different in diverse cultures or fields of work?
How can effective
problem-solving help you in your academic journey?
The technique known as the five whys is one approach to resolving issues that I have
previously employed. The project's delivery was delayed; why? - As a result of the
prolonged than anticipated designing procedure.
Problem-solving techniques might vary substantially between cultures and professions. In
certain cultures, identifying a solution to a problem is a group effort in which everybody
in the group participates. Other cultures, however, could place more importance on solo
problem-solving, when a single individual takes the initiative. The secret is to pick a
technique that works for the situation and issue at hand.
Developing critical thinking is important for every field of study since it is frequently
necessary for problem-solving. Increasing creativity: Solving issues may inspire your
imagination, which is beneficial in many academic fields. Increasing confidence: Solving
issues successfully may increase your confidence and make you more resilient to
challenges in the future. Problem-solving is a versatile talent that can be used in a variety
of circumstances, and being proficient in it may significantly increase my performance in
both my academic and professional endeavors.
1.
Identify your learning style and explain how knowing/learning about your learning style helped support your
success throughout this course.
I am a visual learner because if I see how something is done properly and visually, I
can catch on quickly. I tend to get the task done sooner if I can visually see how, it is
originally supposed to be completed. This style has helped me support my success by
having the vision to see. If I had a disability and was blind, I honestly do not know
how I could possibly learn or succeed without vision
.
2.
Identify which of the five successful habits of an SNHU student have been most helpful for you throughout this
course. Explain how those habits have helped you.
Out of the five successful habits I would have to choose using the rubric. I chose this
one because I use it very often to understand my assignments instructions for the task
I am working on. Even after I have done my assignments, I always go back to the
rubric and check my paper to make sure I provided every element that was required
for the assignment.
3.
Explain how you will stay on track in your courses and overcome interruptions that may impact your schedule.
After this semester nothing would get in the way but unfortunately my wife had to have four
different surgeries on her right ankle in the past couple of weeks and had covid and dental
surgery. This caused me to fall behind on a few assignments because I had to do it all because
the sitter had covid, so I was doing many jobs at once and fell behind. In the future I will have
more than two backups because you never know what obstacles are going to fall in your path
next. I am going to use my scheduler more so every minute of my time everyday is accounted for
and I will use the extra time slots for the emergency issues/.
4.
Choose two SNHU resources (departments and resources that are part of SNHU) and two social supports
(people, places, and things outside of SNHU) that will help the most with achieving your mission and goals, and
that will help you prioritize your time. Also indicate why these resources and social supports are key for your
success.
24/7 Drop-In Tutoring:
This will make it possible for me to send a project for evaluation. Then obtain input on how I may
improve. I may apply the feedback positively to improve my future work. While absorbing the
information and adjusting the subject in question will allow me to become more effective at
school. This will also place me in the right direction towards accomplishing my immediate
objectives.
Instructor feedback within the Grade Center
While using his section it will assist me in adjusting assignments. This will allow me to use what
advice my instructor has given me to prepare and work harder to make any necessary
improvements in my assignments.
My wife Alice is a support system that remains on my side.
She excels in certain subjects that I am not very knowledgeable. We are very supportive of each
other. Math and English are her strengths So if I am writing something academically I usually
have her proofread my work to see if it has any errors. Understanding criticism will aid me as I
progress individually and academically striving towards my objective.
Another Social support is my daughter Ali.
She absorbs knowledge like a sponge and has been reading books since she was 1 year old. My
daughter is highly intelligent and if I am struggling with anything I can always rely on her when
my wife is not available.
5.
List your personal academic mission statement.
My personal mission statement is to complete my bachelor’s degree in the year 2027 and
graduate with my degree in Homeland Security. I have a strong desire to protect and assist
my surroundings, and I think that receiving an education in this will provide me with the
abilities and information I need to do so successfully.
6.
List your THREE short-term academic goals.
My first goal is to complete a counterterrorism course.
Participate in a gathering on homeland security.
Compose an investigation paper on a pertinent homeland security topic.
7.
Describe the importance of setting goals on your academic journey.
The importance of setting goals on your academic journey is to ensure you can accomplish
everything that you have set out to achieve. By achieving many short-term goals, it will give you a
better shot at reaching and accomplishing your long-term goals. Always set your barriers high and
keep the will to succeed in mind when achieving what you have set out to accomplish.
8.
Explain how you are going to stay motivated to achieve your goals and mission statement, based on what you
have learned in SNHU 107.
I plan to utilize everything I have obtained from this course by maintaining a set schedule
and keeping short and long-term goals until I reach my level of no longer needing goals. I
will use everything I learned here in my future courses as well as throughout my entire life.
9.
Explain why an awareness of diversity is beneficial to giving and receiving feedback when collaborating with
others.
Receiving and providing criticism while working with people benefits from being conscious
of diversity since it fosters transparency, improved problem-solving, an awareness of
broadening participation, and less bias.
While individuals from various cultures, genders,
and eras work together, they have different standards regarding the way and the source of
input. Adding a unified strategy and routine feedback channels to partnerships may also
help everyone stay on an equal path.
10.
Explain why it is important to take ownership, be vulnerable, ask for help, and have an open mind to achieve
your goals.
Taking responsibility fosters determination and self-control. It enables you to grow while
gaining knowledge from your errors. Among others, it fosters a sense of dignity and
confidence that may lead to fresh possibilities. Staying open to failure or criticism entails
exposing oneself to such possibilities. The act of asking for assistance is not a sign of
weakness. Nobody can do anything by himself. Everybody has skills and shortcomings, and
occasionally we all need the advice or assistance of others. Being open-minded entails being
prepared to take fresh information and viewpoints into account. It enables you to adjust to
changes and get beyond challenges.
11.
Explain what your biggest takeaway was from this course.
The largest takeaway from an educational experience, in my opinion, is frequently not
merely the information presented; rather, it is how the information alters your viewpoint on
humanity and the way of perceiving. I've discovered that some classes like this course may
teach you important lessons for life like involving perceptions of human nature.
