Also have high security of the whereabouts of the offenders. Keep family relationships intact. Have to pay for the electronic monitor. Still requires for officers to make more frequent home visits. Drug court Nonviolent offenders with substance abuse problems. Rehabilitation Hold offenders accountable by drug testing. They offer treatment and after care services. Also, health care, education, job placement, and housing placement. If relapse majority of the time offenders will be back in jail. Fines Offenders are ordered to pay by the court a specified sum of money. Deterrence State revenue and reduce overcrowding in prisons. If someone has money and they get a fine this is not a real punishment where they can learn from there actions. People with less money have to figure it out and pay. Day reporting centers Intensive programming while in punishment. Structured environment Rehabilitation This is cost-effective to ensure community safety. Delivers therapeutic services for at risk youth and mental patients. May require more sanctions.
