Data Analysis Above is data collected from week 8 of ABA 632, which consists of the acquisition deck 3, with the deck being used for the final week of studying the deck. This is shown in Figures 1.1 and 1.2, where there are 5 data points collected showing the highest score from each of the 5 days that trials were done. Then in Figures 2.1 and 2.2 is the neutral deck which is a collection of
all the previous definition decks from all my previous classes. On the graph, there are also 5 data points, from each of the 5 days trials were done. The data starts on September 18, 2023, and then
ends on September 23, 2023. Figure 1.2 shows the acquisition graph using Deck 3 starting on September 18, 2023. The week’s start-off point was an accel of 10 and decel 3. For acquisition accel, the final date was able to make it to a 14 accel score. This makes the accel acquisition line upward trend line and at the high-level ending for the week. The variability is low to none since the accel score increases in the order of the days studying using the cards. Acquisition decel data had a start point of 3 for the week then ended the week with the final decel of 3. This would make acquisition decel data line with a downward trend line with little variability. In comparison to last week, there are no outliers and the average acquisition decel data stayed between 2 to 4.
Figure 2.1 and Figure 2.2 shows the data for the neutral deck, which consists of all the deck’s definition cards since ABA 620. With the 5 data points I collected on the graph, the data is consistent with the previous data on the graph. I have maintained low variability, no active trend line, and at a moderate level for data. For fluency accel, I stay with an average of 10- 11 making the line still close to straight since no real pattern line of increasing or decreasing. There is also no variability in the data on the accel data collected. The decel data is similar to the accel, the decel stayed between the average of 3-2 decel making the trend line close to flat, with no
variability with the scores. This is the final week of the course, so acquisition data was my second priority my main focus was the acquisition data
Study Approach
Antecedent
For SAFMEDS, my goal is to study for a minimum of an hour, and then split my study focus up by days when possible. I have 2 days of studying the decks separately the fluency decks
the acquisition deck, so it will decrease my study time and help with one primary focus area. On weekends, I try to extend my studies if possible and then do most of my studying in the AM. When doing the trials, I also try to be in a new location for studying. Each trial is 30 seconds, then I write each of the scores down, where I study, the amount of time studying, and any factors
affecting it, and then highlight the final score to input later. This final week I studied on and off through the data to complete the final at the end of the day.
Behavior
For both the acquisition deck and mastery deck, I study for at least 30 minutes to 45 minutes then, use a computer timer of 30 seconds to run the trials. All data is collected in the notebook for the week and the class. Since this was the final week, I took over an average of an hour to study on Saturday. I did longer study periods and then completed the trials in the morning. But prior to the test, I made sure I went back to do an overview of the information before taking the final exam. Consequences
For deck 3 acquisition data I was able to make progress with increasing my accel score to
the goal acquisition accel line of 14. I was also able to make sure the acquisition decel stayed under the 4 to continue with not allowing myself to skip through cards to get to goal line. With the mastery deck, the scores are in the normal range, I have not ever made it to the goal line when it comes to this deck. I think this is due to so many definition cards so, information is harder to stay consistent with. I have always looked at the fluency deck as just up keeping with staying familiar with the different definitions. Adjustments
There were not many adjustments made for this week and not any other factors impacted the data this week. The average study time was only increased on Saturday to make sure I was able to study enough for the final test. Moving forward I learned that I need to continue with my goal time of studying and making sure I follow through with where I study. I had one study late at night, but it didn’t decrease my scores I am assuming since it was the third week of studying deck 3.
