The two cultural works that catch my attention are the 1941 Lincoln Continental
Convertible owned by Edsel B. Ford and the North X-15 aircraft. I chose the 1941 Lincoln Continental because I have always been fascinated by classic cars and their design aesthetics. Lincoln Continental, in particular, represents a time when luxury cars had a certain elegance and style that is often associated with the 1940s era. On the other hand, I chose the North American X-15 aircraft because of significance in the history of aviation and space exploration. The X-15 was a cutting-edge experimental aircraft that pushed the boundaries of what was
possible in terms speed and altitude during the mid-20th century. The 1 Lincoln Continental Convertible reflects its time period through its sleek and luxurious design, which was emblematic of the automotive styling of the 1940s The craftsmanship and attention to detail in the car's construction speak to the values
quality and elegance that were prized during that era. On the other hand, the North American X-15 aircraft reflects the technological advancements and
emphasis on aerospace during the Cold War era. The X-15 represented a significant step forward experimental aviation and showcased the ambition and innovation of the time. A question about key aspects of human culture in relation
to the North American X- aircraft could be: What does the development and use of experimental aircraft like X-15 reveal about human aspirations for exploration and technological advancement during the mid-20th century? To research this question, I would begin by online searches using keywords such as "North American X-15 aircraft," aerospace exploration in the 20th century," and "experimental aircraft history." I would also look for academic articles, books, and documentaries on topic to gain a deeper understanding of the cultural
and historical context surrounding the development aircraft like the X-15. Additionally, consulting experts in aerospace engineering or aviation history could provide valuable insights into the significance of the X-15 in broader cultural landscape of the time.
