From what I remember during high school history class, NATO was founded in 1949
Consists of 12 countries
It helps to prevent conflict within the 12 countries

Belief – NATO helps prevent conflicts/war within the 12 countries that it consists of
Assumption – NATO allows any of the countries in association, assist fellow countries in war if
needed (utilizing other countries military forces).
Values – NATO encourages consultation and cooperation with the different countries to build
trust resulting in peaceful resolutions to issues.

xplain why this topic is relevant to current events or to modern society.
This topic is relevant to current events because it is still in place today; for example, the war in
Ukraine. NATO has been assisting Ukraine along with other supporting allies with non-lethal and
humanitarian aid (NORTH ATLANTIC TREATY ORGANIZATION, 2022).
