Analyze the primary sources relevant to your historical event for the presence of bias.
After analyzing my primary source, I found the bias to be in favor of the LGBTQ community. I come to that analyze this right at the start when Smith states he found himself on what seemed to him the wrong side of the blue line. He continued to discuss the police violence that occurred that night that he viewed from inside the INN. All while others held a sort of held their bias against the LGBTQ. It may have seemed neutral to a degree by talking about the people of this community were a part of the Christopher Street community for a while with no disruptions till the night of the riot. however, when you state “there are homosexuals the kind that chose not to
hide” (Mayer, R. June 30, 1969, para 2) it’s hard to tell what side you’re on. Compare how your historical event is represented in your primary sources.
My historical event is represented in my primary sources by the unhuman actions people in authority have done. Whether or not police were at the Stonewall for just the liquor or whether Pine released certain men dressed as men or not; people were still detained and arrested and people were harmed some more then others. My historical even is represented in my primary source by the fact that how one paints the group is how people sway to it. As Mrs. Ellis says that we need to raise this narrative up and we continue the conversation! We need to draw that narrative and line for focus who don’t understand over 300 anti LGBTQ bills flowed the system with anti LGBTQ rhetoric that there is something wrong with us that we are inhumane, that we shouldn’t exist then you marry that we social media where you become more desensitize and ends in violence” (ABC News, Dec. 2022, 4:20-4:40) she claims the attacks are be perpetuated by
political operatives with an agenda of their own. As shown in the primary source’s speculations were made that the raid was done not on the bases of the Inn not having a liquor license but due to the fact officers didn’t get their pay from the owners of the bar. Reference
