What are some ways the Vermont Department of Corrections could have gathered accurate data?
Some other ways the Vermont Department of Corrections could have gathered accurate data would be to have used the surveys method. When it comes to surveys, they use this information to look at different patterns and trends when it comes to criminal behavior and victimization and where they will take place most likely. Surveys are also able to show who victims of crimes usually are and how they become victims and what other crimes are most prone to specific locations. So, using surveys to gather information through responses would have
been beneficial to collecting data through those questions. 2.
What effect did their omission of data have on the surrounding community?
When it comes to the effect of their omission of data and what it did to the surrounding community, the Vermont Department of Corrections really emphasizes the value they have placed by citizens as advocates in prevention as
well as research and control and how criminal behavior is handled. The omission of their report from the FY 2015’s Facts and Figures means they left out information such as certain facts that could have identified the weaknesses and strengths that were inside their facility as well as key factors such as racial statistics and information on staff resources. Which to me was important for the public to know. Resources:
