Revised Theis: The Trail of Tears, a horrific event orchestrated by Andrew Jackson's Indian Removal Act in the 1830s, revealed the U.S. government's failure to fulfill its obligations towards Native Americans.
The act, which led to the discovery of gold on Native American soil in Georgia, weakened Native American rights and eventually abolished them, despite Supreme Court rulings.
Introduction: I have selected the Trail of Tears as my preferred historical event. The reason for selecting this subject was to get a deeper understanding of the motivations behind the Cherokee chiefs' decision to sign the treaty for the Indian Removal Act, as well as to explore the hardships endured by the Native Indians during this period. My research goal is to understand the connection between the Cherokee Indians, Chief Little John, and President Andrew Jackson to understand the planned outcome or settlement that President Jackson and the US Government pledged to Chief Little John and the Native people, prompting them to voluntarily surrender their
territory and endure a dangerous journey resulting in the loss of thousands of lives.
