Re:
Employee morale
I have been learning a lot about this hospital the last couple of days and I have noticed
that the employee morale is at an all-time low. Employees are often late for work. They also are
absent frequently. This hospital needs some changes. Not just changes but positive changes that
not only helps your employees but helps the hospital also.
I have a great solution that will benefit the whole hospital. My solution is making a change in
your employee’s schedules. I am suggesting that you consider converting to a more flex
scheduling system. Ask each employee if they could pick a perfect schedule for them what hours
and days would it be. Every person is unique in their own way. One person may be a great early
bird. That would mean the are at their most productive optimal time early in the morning. Then
another is a night owl, or they might have a newborn, so they don’t get much sleep at night. Well,
that person is not going to be at their most optimal time early in the morning. That does not mean
they are not a good employee. That just means that they are more productive and focused later in
the afternoon.
So, by allowing them to work at their own optimal time specifically for that
person you will get more work accomplished in each employee’s day. There will be less tardiness
and less absentees from this kind of scheduling. This hospital would be the place to work
because everybody that comes to this hospital will see that your employees are happily working
hard. Now that the management has shown that they are an asset to this hospital you will have
more loyal and productive respectful employees. This new flex scheduling could be part of our
recruiting strategy to attract and retain quality healthcare staff.
