Special Needs Populations Assignment
COHP 101 – Special Needs Populations Assignment:
In your textbook reading, you learned about population groups that face greater challenges and
barriers in accessing health care services. Access and quality of care of special needs populations
hold their own individual challenges.

Children,
Women,
Homeless,
Migrant Workers,

Some of the
PROGRAMS
that are available to special needs populations include:

Questions
Answer
1.
Define and thoroughly describe why this
Population is considered vulnerable.
Children are among the most vulnerable groups in
the world, experiencing inequality, sickness, and
poverty. Because they’re unable to defend
themselves or stand up for themselves, children
are seen as vulnerable. Too many children don’t
have access to high-quality medical care.
2.
Thoroughly analyzes the effect the
Population has on Health Care Delivery
Children are more delicate than adults, thus
healthcare providers are more understanding and
generous with their treatment. It’s more likely that
children will be eligible for free health care.
3.
Thoroughly analyzes the effect Health
Care Delivery has on the Population
More children can receive resources and help, as
well as insurance coverage. Certain children can
receive the appropriate treatment despite having
specific requirements, such as physical,
developmental, behavioral, emotional, and
sensory impaired problems.
4.
Analyzes one program and describes the
benefits or lack thereof.
Low-income women and children up to age five
can receive food, education, health and nutrition
information, and support through the WIC
program. WIC has demonstrated a beneficial
impact on both pregnancy outcomes and the
growth and development of children. WIC also
reduces the rate of infant mortality caused by low
birth weight.
