Describe the five modes of transmission for infections. Provide at least 2 examples of
infections that are transmitted by each mode.
Respiratory: sneezing and coughing

Universal precautions should be regularly taught and practiced in the classroom by
teachers, students, and any other visitors that may come into the classroom.
Preventative measures should be taken very seriously and everyone should be seen as
infected or contagious.

What special accommodations would be necessary if a program wanted to allow mildly
ill children to remain onsite?
Some ways that childcare can accommodate mildly ill children are providing a space for
these students to rest, conducting health checks more often, and maintaining a
staff
that is willing to care for mildly ill students.
