The Importance of Setting Goals When Implementing an EHR
The importance of goals being established when implementing an EHR within an
organization and with benefit expectations for the EHR in healthcare. This essay will be touching
on smart goal setting and stretch goal setting, smart (specific, measurable, achievable, relevant,
and time-bound) goal setting means anyone can read it, can understand, what will be done, and
who will do it. The setting goal setting high-effort and high-risk goal it is intentionally set above
normal standards to attract exponential rewards, opportunities, and experience. The cases that
will be presented in this essay are Reducing Vaccine Preventable Disease through Immunization
Registries and Quality Improvement in a Primary Care Practice. At the end of the essay we are
going to conclude what kind of setting each article have with the specific study goals that both
articles have.
The history of Smart goal setting has been around since November 1981, its gained
popularity for the clear and simple framework by defining and managing goals with objectives
(Haughey, 2014). The STRETCH goal setting came about in the 1990s when the organization
named Apple
However, the data governance wasn’t just solely based upon what it does for health informatics,
there were three key drivers that impact health informatics. Capability can help with health
informatics by requirement of analytical thinking,
Artificial intelligence, Data analysis and
problem solving (Courseera, 2023). Simplicity can be useful for health informatics by being able
to understand how to improve patient experience by organizing, storing, and managing health
data through the use of electronic health records. A custom build model that contains the
connection between knowledge and explain research language of two broad domains, health
science and information science (JMIR Med Inform, 2016).
Health informatics would use
custom build of a model to ensure that research is effective and has impact.
In conclusion, all of my finding’s research shows that data governance wouldn’t have
existed without the three key drivers and these tips impacts health informatics. The three key
drivers are called Capability, simplicity, and custom build, these tips just don’t help with health
informatics but other organizations outside healthcare. These tips help with people careers in
ways of enhancement and promotions that would benefit in health informatics. In order for the
data to be used these three tips make sure the research has purpose and data quality to be good
enough to access for models or any work for health informatics. Overall, the three key drivers’
capability, simplicity, and custom build has been requirements for health informatics and not just
tips. Health informatics needs data governance in all aspects of access to data and the reliability
of data.
