Discuss its importance in building trust and rapport . a) Mindful listening entails hearing an individual without judgment, criticism, or interruption. This includes being aware of your internal thoughts as well as your responses that may interfere with the individual communicating with you. b) Mindful listening allows relationships to flourish and grow with confidence. Being an active mindful listener gives individuals a sense of comfort, allowing future conversations to be successful, not to mention happen more frequently. 2) What is positive reframing? What can you do to reframe a coaching conversation in a positive light? a) Positive reframing is the process of reevaluating a bad or difficult circumstance in a more positive light. This might include considering an advantage to a terrible scenario that had not previously been considered. It may also entail recognizing a lesson to be gained from said negative event. Finding something to be grateful for during a difficult situation is a sort of positive reappraisal. b) To reframe a coaching conversation in a positive light, there are questions to be asked. Such as, “there needs to be an evaluation on what makes the situation a problem, how this situation can be seen by others, what outcome is truly wanted, what positive intention can be seen, how can the situation be used, how can the situation be utilized to the individuals advantage?” 3) What are perceptive reflections in the context of a coaching conversation? Give an example of it. a) Active listening is exemplified by perceptive reflections. They enable individuals to hear what they say through the eyes of another. The goal is to generate feelings that will lead to a change in behavior or belief. The most straightforward approach is to rephrase what the individual says in his or her own terms. b) Following a break-up, for example, you can reflect on the chance to meet new people, the lessons you learned from the relationship, and your gratitude for the time you spent with the individual. 4) Briefly explain what did you understand by the phrase, “The coach’s certainty is greater than the client’s doubt”? a) Coaches assist their clients uncover what they already know and have faith in their clients' capacity to realize their full potential, even when the client doubts it. 5) Discuss some of the “coaching relationship” related findings which were identified in the DeJesus et.al (2018) article you read this week. a) The poll was completed by 62 people who thought that participating in the wellness coaching program helped them move toward better lifestyle behaviors and established a personal vision of wellbeing. Participation related to several major themes, including a supportive coaching relationship, enhanced self-accountability, increased goal-setting, and healthy behavior techniques. There were no substantial barriers to participation noted.
