Harwell 1 Sierra Harwell Professor Rickrode Nutrition 115 28 May 2023 Diet Analysis part 3: Self-Evaluation Personal health conditions that should be considered when evaluating my diet would be overweight, and eating disorder. Family health conditions that should also be considered are heart disease and diabetes. These conditions do affect my food choices that I eat daily. I try to eat more fruits and vegetables more than anything, in fact sometimes that’s all I want to eat on certain days. I’m very aware of my body and how it feels when I eat badly so I try to not eat badly but due to my eating disorder I emotionally eat when I’m stressed, or upset. I don’t really eat red meats but I do have an issue with choosing fast food over homemade food. Pricing of foods play a major role in what I choose to eat as well, as the prices for groceries have gone up insanely in the past year or two it seems. 100$ of groceries can only get me so much before I have to buy more within the next two days or so . I’m very picky on taste and texture so that also plays a role in what I choose, sometimes if a food doesn’t look how I wanted it to I won’t even eat it. I do wish to add more seafood into my diets but it’s very pricey and I can’t always afford it. Fast food is more convenient for my person situation because of time, and prices. I’m very busy throughout my days and by the time I think of eating it’s too tiring or late to run to the store or wait and cook the foods I chose to make for that time. I would like to improve my vitamin intakes and protein more based on my worksheets. I think that these are two important things for me to maintain healthy and to feel healthy in my body most importantly. My vitamin intakes were low in groups B1, B5, folate, A, D, E, and K. I
Harwell 2 would add more broccoli, spinach, mangos, Brussels sprouts, kiwi, oranges, fish, and peanuts into my diet to get a better consuming for my vitamin intakes. I can add fruit to all of my meals breakfast, lunch, and dinners. I can include orange juice if I don’t feel like eating oranges. I can also try and make more baked fish and more chicken, overall make more homemade foods. I plan to make this change during mostly snack time for fruits and vegetables and fish during dinners, During my three day food intake record I did not consume any fruits. This is surprising to me as usually I try to consume at least three different fruits daily. However I did consume vegetables like broccoli and asparagus. Which I don’t think is good enough, I should have consumed more for both fruits and vegetables. I need to add more strawberries, mangos, oranges, watermelon, cantaloupe, and for vegetables I should consume more red bell peppers, yellow bell peppers and corn, and cucumbers.
