PATIENT ENGAGEMENT

Effective patient engagement leads to a more receptive patient which in turn leads to a healthier patient!
•
By creating or fostering a "partnership" for treatment plans, patients are more likely to take heed to instructions given by medical professionals.
•
Nobody wants to feel as if they are being "bossed around" by their healthcare team.

Shared decision making = a healthier and happier patient willing to utilize provider's instructions for their medical care

Shared decision-making has been defined as, “an approach where clinicians and patients share the best available evidence when faced with the task of making decisions, and where patients are supported to consider options, to achieve informed preferences."
