Unit 5 Professional Communication: Pitch your idea!
Hello everyone, today I would like to share with you an exciting idea that I believe
would help us out as an organization and offer an enterprising concept that can elevate the healthcare system. According to the CDC, a growing body of evidence shows that people with higher patient activation (the expression of knowledge, skills, and confidence to become actively engaged in their health care) have better health outcomes. Without further ado, I would like to introduce the Helping Hands Teleguide as a countermeasure. The Helping Hands Teleguide is a
wellness content directory for patients as well as providers to actively search for reliable and relevant health information. All content is curated in n? how-to videos that aid in managing various conditions, symptoms, and classifications such as menh, maternal, neurology, ophthalmology and so on. A recent study found that engaged patients are three times less likely to have unmet medical needs in comparison to those who are unengaged, and they are twice as likely to seek care in a timely manner. Our how to guides are comprised by a global network of health professionals that provide thorough and in-
depth medical advice backed by quality research. All patrons, patient and non-patients can have access )pj our guides through our website at www.helpinghandsguidetothefuture.org
, while being able to schedule appointments based on their preferred content (if applicable in their area). Our patients and providers are sure to see a spike in patient engagement by leveraging these solutions and taking telemedicine to the next level. Unfortunately, health literacy and trust aren’t as common between all patients and providers as we would believe. However, through this new system I believe it could help to reach many marginalized groups and bridge the gap

between the knowledgeable and the misinformed. Both groups tend to waiver on both sides of this subject consequently. Providing a higher standard of healthcare with a focus on the impact of accessible and relevant content that may change the lives of our patients is one way we are able to achieve this. But I have faith in the process and our healthcare system to improve diligently while promoting ease of access while gaining a newfound trust within our organization.
