How has the healthcare technology landscape changed? Healthcare technology changed by focusing on how to gather patients' information together so that it can be accessible to the staff members of the healthcare facility. These applications enable the transmission and management of information related to healthcare, which contributes to improving patients’ health and physicians’ performance (Stoumpos et al., 2023). This shows that this is part of the role of healthcare technology. Are the healthcare technologies used for the same purpose ? Explain. Not all healthcare technologies are used for the same purpose. Some technologies focus on taking images of certain areas of the body, such as an MRI or a sonogram, while others focus on the patient's history and the reason why they are at the facility. Overall, one purpose is to see the physical ailments, while the other is to organize the patient's history or ailments. How can they be used across departments ? Across departments, technology can be used to monitor how the patient is doing, obtain lab results faster, facilitate communication between other departments, and provide telemedicine. Patients and medical professionals do not have to meet face-to-face but online if need be. How do healthcare technologies impact the roles across the industry? Across the healthcare industry, healthcare technology impacts roles by reducing human errors, improving clinical outcomes, facilitating care coordination, improving practice efficiencies, and tracking data over time (Alotaibi & Federico, 2017). Even though technology has these positives, some negatives have an impact on the various roles in healthcare. The main negative would be the technology breaking down or not working. If or when this happens, not only a patient's life could be in danger, e.g., life support, but it would cost the hospital heavy fees to fix it or buy a new one.
