Hello Kerline, A dependent variable depends on other factors. This can easily be explained as a person’s test score. The factors that will go into this would be how much
has the student studied, how many nights did you study prior to test, and even if the test was taken while hungry. Meanwhile an independent variable can be explained as a variable that does not change due to other factors. When reviewing the information from the factors, there are types of bias. “
Selection bias
occurs when the procedures used to select subjects and other factors that influence participation in the study produce a result that is different from what would have been obtained if all members of the target population were included in the study.” (
