Biostatisticians
Biostatisticians use research methods like qualitative and quantitative studies to look into
public health problems. Biostatistics gives people, especially healthcare workers like nurses,
information on how to best deal with and eliminate health problems
(
Agarwal et al., 2020). Using
statistical methods, biostatisticians help researchers in many areas, such as medicine, biology,
and public health. Cancer and studying it are significant parts of public health biostatistics
research examining how the world affects people's health.
Most of the time, epidemiologists study just one illness at a time to learn more about it,
become experts in it, and share what they have learned with the public. Epidemiology uses
science tools, systems-based thinking, and real-world data to examine how and why diseases
spread in groups of people
(
Stein et al., 2022). The study of epidemiology works to solve public
health problems by finding proof and ways to improve care and make sure that people and
groups deal with these issues. Because of statistics, scientists were able to learn more about the
COVID-19 epidemic and make a vaccine that worked well against the disease. Epidemiologists
are primarily interested in how typical a disease or health result is, how far it spreads
geographically, and any patterns or trends that can be seen.
Epidemiology and biostatistics are essential to evidence-based medicine because they
help find information and treatments for these illnesses. Epidemiology and biostatistics are
crucial to this effort because they use study results to find the causes, effects, and things that can
be avoided that lead to group health problems.
