Major Forces and Impact
Technological advancements, global health issues, financial strains, regulatory changes and aging population are among the major forces that affect the delivery of healthcare. Technology has proven to improve the delivery of healthcare by enhancing patient safety through lower prescription errors, decreasing adverse drug response and increasing adherence to practice guidelines. Without a question, healthcare information technology plays a significant role in enhancing the standard of care. Global health issues like the Covid-19 pandemic are putting extreme strain on healthcare organizations and the delivery of healthcare. This crisis has highlighted the need for strong healthcare systems and emergency preparedness. Growing healthcare expenses have become a serious problem
and many are finding it difficult to pay out of pocket for the care they are receiving, hence the transitioning to value-based care model. Healthcare institutions must meet the standards
set by regulatory bodies like the Department of Health and the Joint Commission. By meeting these standards healthcare organizations can deliver quality care to their patients. With an aging population the demand for healthcare services is increasing especially when it comes to management of chronic diseases. This transition calls for additional funding and
specialized care. Opportunities Considering the major forces that impacts healthcare, the opportunities that exist for Cleveland
clinic is to take advantage of technological advancements to enhance the patient care experience and provide the highest quality care for their patients. After all patient satisfaction should be most important. “Cleveland Clinic has introduced many medical firsts,

opened facilities around the world and is proud to be ranked among the top hospitals in the country” (

Cleveland Clinic should concentrate on increasing services to take into account the aging population as part of its complex healthcare system and develop alliances to improve service they offer, in partnership with tech companies or other healthcare providers. Proposal for addressing identified issues.
My proposal for addressing identified issues or improvements for Cleveland Clinic would
include Incorporating Telemedicine to increase the effectiveness and accessibility of providing care for senior citizens and creating specialized programs for managing chronic illnesses suited for the aging population. There should be training programs to keep staff aligned with technological advancements and changes made by regulatory bodies. Implement measures to reduce costs while maintaining the standard of care.
