07.06 CHANGES AS A RESULT OF THE WORLD ECONOMY FRQ Step 1: Study this graph
Step 2: Use the graph showing the Top Motor Vehicle Producers in 2019 to answer the following prompts: A. Define economic globalization. Economic globalization is the strengthening and forming of relationships and alliances/interdependency throughout local, national, and regional economies around the world through the movement of people, labor, goods & services, information, capital, and technologies. B. Describe how this graph would be different if it showed the top automobile-producing countries at the beginning of the 20th century. This graph would be different because there would be smaller numbers. This is because automobiles were first created in the late 19/early 20 century, so their production rates would be really slow in that era. Also the production and distribution of automobiles worldwide wouldn't be until later in the century. So if it showed the top automobile countries of the graph, US and China, their production numbers would be lower. Also for certain economic issues, for example, in the early 20th century, the US suffered through the great depression which would’ve most likely lowered their money/resources/budgets to produce the cars. C. Identify TWO geographic patterns indicated in the graph of the top automobile-producing countries in 2019. The more developed countries like the US and China are far more industrialized/developed than most countries today, which supply their mass production, and are most likely supplying lesser developed countries. These countries
became more industrialized as time progressed and they gained the machinery, people, knowledge, and resourcesAnd then the less developed countries have slower production and are most likely using the help from other, more developed countries to help stabilize and raise their production rates, while they continue to industrialize and catch up to be able to support and produce the vehicles on their own! D. Explain TWO reasons for the geographic patterns that you identified in Part C. The developed countries have higher production rates because they have more access to advanced tech, energy, and sources to be able to continue and increase their mass productions. And the undeveloped/developing countries have lower to barely any production rates because they are less industrialized and have less advancement and tech, which is why they are most likely dependent on other countries for help and supplies while they continue to grow/develop and industrialize. D. Explain how industrial location may have led to the changes in the geographic patterns of automobile production. Some countries and locations are more developed and advanced so they would have a greater amount of production, while the lesser developed and non technological countries would have smaller to no production numbers. Based on their location, certain countries are exposed and supplied different resources to help with their productions, meaning that some countries might be in areas with more oils or iron/metal which would help increase their supplies and ultimately raise production rates.
