LIT-229 World Mythology 3-3 Final Project Milestone Two Meagan Avery The archetype I have chosen to research is the Warrior Goddess. I have chosen two goddesses to compare, Athena from Greece and Sekhmet from Egypt. The reason I chose these two is because they have such contrasting ideals. Athena was known for her wisdom and getting out of war situations using her wit. Sekhmet on the other hand, was known to cover battlefields with the blood of humans. The sources I have chosen to use for my research are The Assembly of the Gods and the Mission of Athena: Odyssey 1.1-108 (A 21 st Century Rendition) by Timothy R. Beck and Sekhmet & Bastet: The Feline Powers of Egypt by Lesley Jackson. I hope to learn more about both goddesses and compare how their ideologies and mission affected the communities that believed in them.
