The Journal of Nursing Administration Sleep Deprivation and Error in Nurses Who Work
the Night Shift's
main goal was to investigate if sleep deprivation is the reason why nurses are making medical errors. The researchers wondered if nurses were allowed to take naps if errors will decrease. On the other hand, many medical facilities do not believe the same thing. They believe that when nurses take naps on their breaks, they are less alert, and it might cause more issues. Some hospital directors believe that when nurses tap naps they are not alert and ready for any emergencies. The second article and topic that I've chosen are why is it important for there to
be diversity in the working place, especially in medical settings. While we can still see some places are not quite diverse in workers or the work environment. Diversity in the workplace can guarantee a positive future in the work environment. While diversity can cause hostility among workers and patients when they can't agree on something. The side I will be siding is that Nurses and medical workers should take naps, and diversity is important in the medical field. Naps for Night medical workers that works more than than an 8 hours should be eligible for naps. Naps can help with fatigue, tiredness, and sleep deprivation, to continue to stay alert in an emergency. And this can be the key to fewer patient errors in their care. Diversity can also have a positive impact on the medical field, especially in the management department. Diversity allows us to see another perspective on a common issue and allow new and improved ideas to come about. Diversity can also allow us to connect with our patients when they see we are open to their culture and beliefs. The target readers can be medical directors and management departments, this will allow us to understand what workers need and why diversity and medical workers napping can potentially save a life..
