The operation of the ladder logic is fairly simple, each block uses the input from the data block as the parameters for each block. So the same numbers can be used over and over again instead of having to type them out each time.

Conclusion
The use of math functions is essential when it comes to programming PLC’s. This type of logic is used all across manufacturing and even though these are basic math functions they are used thousands of times throughout a manufacturing plant. With the programs I create at work 90% contain some type of math function weather its inputs or adding values from sensors to create the correct readout they and crucial when it comes to PLC programming.
