WEEK TWO APPLICATION ASSIGNMENT 2
2
Introduction
This assignment will use an Old Testament passage from the Wisdom Literature of
Psalms in the Holy Bible.
The Old Testament has taught me to have courageous strength to
endure any pain and suffering, trouble, problems, heartache, death, crime, and violence in the
world today.
My mother instilled that strength in me when I had problems growing up in life and
marriage domestic violence and adultery ruined my marriage of 10 years of hell but held on
hoping and praying that one day he would love me and the children and be a good husband and
father. My mother told me how encouraging the book of Psalms is and that it mainly comes from
songs of the heart.
She told me Psalms can encourage you when no other book in the KJV Bible
can.
Describe How the Passage is Relevant to You Now
When we read the book Psalms Scriptures are nothing but encouraging and uplifting
poetry, however not the type of poetry to which many of us are familiar.
Now in the King James
Version of the Bible, when I look at the psalms, I found out that the structure of the Book of
Psalms is no different from that of Genesis. Therefore, smoothing and helping the
communication of deep thoughts and emotions, is what Poetry is a method of expression. When
my father wanted to express his feelings to my mother, he wrote poems to her.
Before he passed
away, I can remember my father writing a poem to me for different occasions like my birthday,
high school graduation, and other accomplishments.
My son is serving a 19-year sentence in
prison, I was amazed and happy to know that not only does my son write poetry but many
prisoners do.
Simply because this is believed to be a satisfactory way of revealing a person’s
feelings, perhaps from the bars of a prison probably is not done very much and is hard to do on
the inside (Bible.ORG, 2004).
WEEK TWO APPLICATION ASSIGNMENT 2

The
Old Testament passage from the Wisdom Literature of Psalms in the Holy Bible is as
relevant to me today as I strive to live in these last cruel and evil days of this old world, as it was
in the OT times.
The Wisdom Literature of Psalms has taught me how to have great strength,
endurance, faith, trust, hope, long-suffering, and how to not give up and curse God.
I have truly
learned to depend on Psalms 70 KJV, whenever I feel like my back is against the wall and I have
nowhere else to turn, no one else to depend on but God, I look to Psalms 70 for my strength, and
to fight my battles that are too big and powerful for me to handle. And it reads below to show
you how powerful the Scriptures are in Psalms 70, when I need God to move in a hurry, and
expose my enemies who seek to harm me, God defeats them for me throughout these verses.
Psalm 70
Make haste, o God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O L
ORD
.
2
Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and
put to confusion, that desire my hurt.
3
Let them be turned back for a reward of their shame that say, Aha, aha.
4
Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: and let such as love thy salvation say
continually, Let God be magnified.
5
But I am poor and needy: make haste unto me, O God: thou art my help and my deliverer;
O L
ORD
, make no tarrying.
