Discuss the topic of your photographic essay. The topic of my photo essay will be the destruction and the beauty of the Oregon Wildfire. The Fires tend to rage through the state each year and devastate local communities. However, there is still beauty within the fires. And I plan to capture it. Discuss your relationship to the material. As the fires raged in my state and I had to evacuate my family to safety at one point, I decided to use the wildfires in my photo essay to show the destruction as well as the regrowth of beauty. Living here throughout my whole life and always having to deal with them, it's time to show others the realization that this state faces. Where will your photographic essay take place? Why did you pick this location? The location will be HWY 126, The old Holiday Farm Fire locations, and up HWY 58 to the Cedar Creek fire locations. Glide Oregon fire area. Fall creek Oregon, burns almost yearly. These location are chosen due to the repeated fires that run through the area each year. Who is/are the subject(s)? If applicable, what is the relationship between them? The subjects will be nature, regrowth, burnt houses, and housing rebuilding. Describe the storyline of the photographic essay. The storyline will be about the destruction as well as the regrowth beauty of a wildfire. I cannot capture the active fire as that is restricted access still due to safety concerns. However, the aftermath will be what I will be capturing with my photo essay. Discuss potential logistical considerations, for example, how you will address lighting for the chosen time of day, how far you will need to travel, whether you will need to acquire additional equipment (e.g., a backdrop), and so on. Travel will happen to the fire location (as legally permitted) which will include some driving. No other equipment should be needed. Travel will be anywhere from an hour to two hours of drive time. I don't really have to leave the highway much. There may be some BLM, Forrest Road terrain to drive. I would hike where permitted and drive where able to.
