Lesson Summary Frequently Asked Questions What are the parts of a sentence in Spanish grammar? Spanish grammar relies upon a basic pattern, or word order, for sentences. This pattern is: subject-verb- object. The subject is usually a noun that carries out the action in the sentence, while the verb is the action word. The object can either receive the action directly or indirectly. What are the basics of Spanish grammar? One of the most basic things to learn about basic Spanish grammar is that it is a grammatically inflected language. This means that words in the Spanish language change their form or spelling in order reflect changes in person, gender, number, and tense. For Spanish, articles, adjectives and adverbs have to match the gender and number of the noun. Verbs also change their forms in order to reflect the person, number, and tense of the sentence.
