Report
Event Viewer is a built-in Windows tool that logs your computer’s system, applications, and security incidents. This tool allows you to review logs that contain error messages, alerts, and information about different system events. When you review these logs, you’ll be able to identify patterns and possible causes of issues. You’ll also be able to tell the difference between the user’s fault and the operating system’s fault. For instance, if you’re looking at the logs of a particular application, you might notice that it’s showing the same errors over and over again. That’s a sign that you’re dealing with a software problem, not a user error. Another Windows tool is Reliability Monitor, which shows a timeline of system events, installed software, and updates. Reliability Monitor evaluates the stability of the system based on important events and issues. Technicians can use Reliability Monitor to determine when issues occurred, what issues are happening and what changes were made before those issues occurred. This data is useful in understanding whether user actions caused the issue or if system changes caused the issue. Mohaghegh, N., Munidasa, S., Ziho, X., Owen, Q., Magierowski, S., & Ghafar-Zadeh, E.
