EEL3110 Circuit Analysis Lab 6 SIXTH ACTIVITY: Lab Proposal Report LM386 audio amplifier circuit: Speaker Group 10 Alvaro Grijalva FIU ID: 5495568 Gustavo Delgado FIU ID: 4892768 Supervisor: Yu Du December 4, 2023 Procedure:
For this project, my partner and I decided to construct a LM386 audio amplifier circuit. This audio amplifier is commonly used in electronic projects because it is simple and versatile. 1 Watt audio amplifier circuit set up and Multisim:
Components used: Most of the components that were used during the setup of the lab were include in the lab kits that were given to us. Some extra components were cheap and easily available at any place that sells basic electronics. A LM386 (Audio Amplifier) Capacitors (2x100 microfarad capacitors), (1x 1000microfarad capacitor) Resistors (2x1k resistors) Power Source (LM386 usually operates with lower voltages, in this case we used a 9V Battery) Audio Input Source (Computer) Output Device (Speaker) Formulas used to solve this circuit: Inverting Amplifier: Equation: Av = - Rf/Rn Output Voltage: V out=−Av×Vin Non-Inverting Amplifier: Equation: Av = 1+ Rf/Rin Output Voltage: Vout= Av x Vin Output power: Output power= Vrms^2/Rload Handwritten Work:

Mydaq configuration:
A 9v battery was utilized and it matched the simulation. Demonstration:
Conclusions: Our team picked this project because were interested in audio engineering and we found it challenging to experiment with something that is related to our curiosity. People usually take for granted basic everyday technology and do not pay much attention to how they work or how they are built even if they are simple. The basic purpose that this audio amplifier serves as well as any, it boosts the strength and amplitude of any audio signal. While in the modern day there might be more complicated and complex amplifiers, it is important to know that this basic circuit is still used for some low power audio devices such as radios, intercoms, and other simple sound systems. In conclusion, This project felt more relatable for our team since this type of technology is used every day and It was interesting to see how it works. While we advance in our careers, it will be interesting to observe more complicated and sophisticated circuitry. Our objectives were met, the team was able to understand the project and were able to solve it. The difficulties that we encountered were dealt with as we went along because most of this circuitry was discussed in classed during the Op-Amp examples that were during the course. It was quite an experience to pick a project that our lab group was interested in and to see its real-world applications and where they came from.
