Electric Generation: Boeing 373 Max

My choice of aircraft is the Boeing 373 Max, the 4th
generation of Boeing's 737 aircraft line announced by the company on 30 August 2011 and first tested on 29 January 2016. Although the 737 Max was meant to be Boeing's flagship jet to rival Airbus' A320, the aircraft suffered significant setbacks after the 2018 Lion Air Flight 610 and 2019 Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 fatal crashes, killing a combined 346 people (Kaji, Maile, & Benitez, 2020). These two incidents forced the FAA to ground the 373 Max globally, including its production.
Despite these two unfortunate incidents, the 373 Max is undoubtedly a unique aircraft with a unique electrical system. The aircraft's electrical system – the alternating current (AC) and
the direct current (DC) circuits – are the same on all 737 Max planes. Direct current is unidirectional, while alternating current periodically changes (reverses) direction (Aero Toolbox,
n.d.). The 737 Max's primary AC power comes from two engine-driven Integrated Drive Generators (IDG) that supply a three-phase 400hz, 115-volt AC. Each IDG supplies power to its respective AC Transfer Bus through the Generator Circuit Breaker (GCB), although it can also feed the opposite AC Transfer Bus via the tie bus if the opposite Transfer Bus is not working (373exam.com, n.d.). On the other hand, the primary source of DC power for the 737 Max is the three Transformer Rectifiers (TR), which convert AC (115 volts) into DC (24-30 volts). TR1 gets its power supply from AC Transfer BUS 1 and is the primary power source for DC BUS 1. TR2 and
TR3 are supplied by AC Transfer Bus 2, although AC Transfer BUS 1 can act as a backup for TR3. Most importantly, TR3 can serve as an auxiliary DC when TR1 and TR2 fail and is the typical power source for the battery bus.

Refer here for the specifications of the D400.
a) What power output should you be able to supply from the 24V D400 at 15.4 m/s?
b) If the wind drops to 2 m/s, what will the output power be?
c) According to the performance graph what is the maximum power you can obtain from the 24V D400?
There is a possibility of installing the turbine on top of a 20m high mast instead. Assuming that Zo=0.012, what would you expect the wind speed to be at that height? Use wind shear formula and assume Vref = 7.5 m/s at a height of Zref =10 m.
