ECE 210 Spring 2024 Homework 5 1. (2 points) Solve for the three mesh currents in the circuit shown below. 2. (2.5 points) Use mesh analysis to determine each of the mesh currents i 1 through i 4 and the voltage v 0 across the 3 resistor. (2 Points) Then, use operating point (.op) analysis in SPICE to verify your answer for v 0 . Make sure all the connections are correct in your SPICE schematic, and remember to define the reference node! Turn in your schematic and the output. 100 V 40 V 4 mA 2i 1 4 k 8 k 2 k i 1 i 2 i 3 4 V 3 V 2 V 6 V 2 5 3 6 1 1 1 i 1 i 2 i 3 i 4 + v 0
3. (1.5 points) Use the principle of superposition to determine the voltage v 0 in the circuit shown. 4. (1 point) Use two source transformations to find the branch current i 0 in the circuit shown. + v 0 12 V 5 8 10 2 A 4 A 25 mA 25 mA i 0 330 270 150
5. Answer the questions for the circuit shown below. a. (1.5 points) Use a series of source transformations to find i 0 in the circuit shown. Hints: Start by transforming the two current sources to obtain an equivalent 17 V source in series with 17 Ω. Then, transform that voltage source and the original voltage source into an equivalent 1 A current source in parallel with 8.5 Ω , both in parallel with the 1.5 Ω resistor . Finally, solve for i 0 using a technique of your choice. Be careful to identify the proper terminal locations on each source transformation! b. (1.5 points) Verify your solution using full mesh analysis on the original circuit to find i 0 . c. (2 points) Verify that solution by performing an operating point (.op) analysis of the original circuit in SPICE. Turn in your schematic and the output. 2 A 1 A 6 6 5 17 1.5 i 0 34 V
