Direct Care Project Part 4 Evaluating the Project Directions: Use this template to evaluate your project. For more information on the template sections, see the Directions for Part 4 and the Direct Care Part 4 Tutorial. Student Name: Date: 1. Title of presentation __________ CCRN_____________________________ 2. Date presentation completed ________________________________ 3. Tables of results a. Tally the results of your surveys and place the numerical values in the boxes below. PRE-Survey # Strongly Agree Agree Neither Agree nor Disagr ee Disagree Strongly Disagree 1 1 2 2 2 1 3 1 1 1 4 2 1 5 1 2 POST-Survey # Strongly Agree Agree Neither Agree nor Disagr ee Disagree Strongly Disagree 1 2 1 2 3 3 3 4 2 1 5 3 4. Interpretation of results a. Summarize data from the tables. The outcomes or results changed from pre and post-survey. From the results, all three nurses needed more information about the CCRN and 9.8.22
were unaware of how important it was to further their career in a specialized area and get their certification. b. Include any positive or negative changes. The survey and the results of the presentation influenced positive changes since all the nurses are now well-informed about what is required and necessary to get CCRN certification. Further, the nurses understand how and why the certification process should be completed. 5. Reflection a. Overall experience. First, the current project was a significant learning experience for my career and my peers. Second, through the project, my peers and I learned newer aspects that encouraged us to move forward and work toward getting our CCRN. b. Summary of outcomes from the pre and post surveys. According to the pre-survey outcomes, all the nurses needed information on the CCRN exam and their reasoning for getting it. Nonetheless, after the presentation, they all aspired to the CCRN and understood the value of the certificate. c. Gaps in project (Examples: What else would have been helpful? More data? Better resources? Other gaps?) The primary gap I noted from the project is that most healthcare facilities do not encourage their employees to obtain CCRN. For instance, having worked in the organization for a long time, none of us has even been approached by the facility’s management regarding our interest in getting their CCRN. d. Barriers to the project (Examples: Participant interest? Time? Limited resources? Willingness for change? Other barriers?) The first barrier I realized is the challenging process of obtaining a CCRN, especially the tests. In this regard, one has to balance adequate time for studies and clinical work for quality services and a better learning experience to pass the test. The second barrier relates to the cost implication. Due to the challenging financial times, investing in learning to get CCRN certification is also an obstacle. Most healthcare facilities are hesitant to pay for the test for their employees, which discourages them from pursuing the certification. 6. Implications for future practice a. How could this project impact your professional practice? The project is an awakening call for my peers and me, especially in informing about obtaining a CCRN. Through the information, we can 9.8.22
study and take the test as a team, which will allow us to build our professional practices. 9.8.22
