Gaudencio Tumulak 11/11/2023 POLSC 150 W09 Project: MDS Analysis In terms of politics, the United States and Kuwait are total opposites. The U.S. is like a democratic republic, where there are different parties and elections happen all the time. On the other hand, Kuwait resembles a constitutional monarchy, where the ruling family has all the political power. Even though these countries have different politics, they've still created good conditions for becoming successful in their own ways. Economically, the main thing they have in common is their money. The U.S. and Kuwait are considered to be fairly wealthy countries when it comes to GDP per person. The US has a super diverse and high-tech economy, due to the new innovations and their entrepreneurs. Kuwait, on the other hand, has become a successful economy due to its oil. They depend a lot on exporting it where they have thrived and continue to grow. Even though their economies are different, the one thing they all have in common is that they've got plenty of resources. Whether it's their upcoming and developing technological advances or their natural reserves, these resources help make them successful. Socially and culturally, people from the US and Kuwait are extremely different. The US is all about its diverse culture, with people from different ethnicities, religions, and backgrounds. Kuwait is fairly diverse as well, but it's mostly made up of Arab-Muslim residents. While the two countries are still very different from one another, one thing they both share is a commitment to education and infrastructure development, which are all extremely crucial for economic growth. A possible explanation as to why their GDP per capita at PPP is so similar is that economies are all connected globally. The US and Kuwait are all about that international trade and investment game. They each use their unique strengths and advantages. The US capitalizes on its technological advances and innovations with a skilled workforce, while Kuwait benefits from its natural resource advantages in the oil market. The embracement of their different economic policies has helped them grow their economy. Looking into the MDS analysis of the United States and Kuwait, we can see that their wealth comes from several things stemming from the different uses of the advantages they have. They've got a strong, growing economy, plenty of resources, commitment to advancing education, and stable economic policies. Even though these countries are all different in politics, economy, and society, they somehow manage to come together and become successful in their own way.
