This method of research shows extensive statics on correctional officers’ recruitment and retention rate, as well as the rate of turn over in the field itself. I think to answer the question that was asked researchers needed to be shown in actuation how much the well being of these officers or employees of this occupation are being overlooked and the effect that it has on the career retention rates. This was extremely successful in correlating the mental health of officers in regard to recruitment and retention of this occupation. Qualitative- https://ezproxy.snhu.edu/login?url=https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx? direct=true&db=i3h&AN=161715804&site=ehost-live&scope=site As the author stated, “I recently conducted a study that surveyed officers across the country to determine whether the self-regulating mechanisms of resilience, self-efficacy and emotional intelligence were significant predictors of intention to stay employed as correctional officers.” (Morgan, 2022) This is qualitative research as this is not something that can be put into numbers as it is a mindset matter. The author did include some quantitative aspects; however, their research was more interviews than scientific evidence. For this reason, I believe this was a successful as it addresses a large problem that is not addressed as often as it should be and that is emotional intelligence.
