Topic 5 DQ 2 Some teachers struggle with using questions to drive instruction. Why do you believe this struggle exists? Do you think you will be successful with this method? Why or why not? I think the struggle for teachers with using questions to drive instructions exists because as teachers we are required to give and teach so much information and if not well equipped or prepared they may not have the drive to do this. I think I would be successful with this method because I do believe in keeping my students engaged and focused on instruction. I think that even if I were to have a lecture episode where I need to read a lot I would be constantly asking for feedback and asking questions. There is so much that as teachers that we can do to keep our students from becoming bored and I think that interaction is important and keeping all students involved in their own learning is important. Even with students that may not want to answer questions or be picked on for engagement, we can always ask yes or no questions in order for them to at least shake their head. I have pulled groups and sometimes I see students who just cannot handle the pressure of being called on so this is one way to ensure they at least can make connections.
