Scenario 1
This is a very typical scenario that takes place in classrooms every day in this situation. I will
remind all students that boys and girls both are smart. This is a tough issue to explain to certain
students because male students think that they are more dominant than females and female
students think that they are more dominant than males. In this scenario, I will explain to the
student that you were being rude and disrespectful. I will also explain to the students that
everyone learns at a different pace. According to Bachemin (2020), we are all unique in our own
way. That doesn’t mean that one individual is smarter than the other. I feel and believe that all
students are intelligent, and all students deserve the opportunity to learn. I will also recommend
that this student go back and look at history. There are males and females that are both in high
authority jobs. Whether it's the President of the United States or the Speaker of the House? I will
also inform the student that if you feel that you are smarter than the females in the class then
tutor them and mentor them so that they can get on the same academic level as you.
Scenario 2
The first thing that I will say to the student is that this type of behavior will not be tolerated.
Then I would ask the student to apologize. Next, I will address the issue of the comment. I will
also make him aware that the classroom is full of different races and ethnic backgrounds and his
comment is completely inappropriate. It doesn't matter what race you are; anyone can be smart
and successful. I will tell the student that any student has the opportunity to be great at a craft or
career, but the only way to achieve greatness is to apply yourself. It doesn’t matter of race or
background; you are from every individual has the opportunity to make themselves better.
Scenario 3
I will let the student know that we live in a diverse world. There will be many people that you
will not be able to work with, but that is not the appropriate attitude to have. One way to gain
success is by being able to communicate and network. Everyone in the group has a special skill
or strength that will be beneficial for the purpose of the project. I will also let the student know
that working in a group is better than working alone. Therefore, if it’s something that you do not
understand, the group can help you find the best solution.
Scenario 4
First, I will be extremely upset that one of my students will not be able to participate on the hike
due to Being in a wheelchair. I will also let the student know that that is completely unacceptable
but do not let this issue cause you not to have a great time and do not let it jeopardize a learning
experience. A video is not acceptable. Most students learn more from being hands-on than from
watching videos or reading textbooks. I will also let the student know that this may be an issue
that you will be faced with again in life, but always remember that there is more than one way to
participate. I would have the students bring back different things that they saw on the hike so that
the student is still able to see what was on the hike.
