Learning environment of the centre, the guidance of the educators by supporting him on his choice of learning, learning instructional materials that is being used to develop a child’s learning and understanding. For example, different painting colours as he loves mixing the different colours to create new one.

He usually plays with everyone with different age and gender but commonly he played with male children.
Reflect on your own pedagogical practices and identify how this would influence the child’s behaviour.
As an educator, I believe I have a big role on shaping the foundation of every child’s learning. I have supported them and assist on their choice of learning. Providing instructional materials that is needed and giving them many different ideas to be more creative and I used to ask open ended questions to trigger their interest.
Development Strategies and Support Practices
Identify practices you would implement to support this child’s holistic behaviour and development. Physical development to encourage movement and exercise in support of emotional development:
Zico’s love of singing and dancing into the program – both planned and spontaneous. Music and movement that will help the child to feeling positive
and happy.
Cognitive development strategies based on B’s interests:
Incorporate the child’s interests in dinosaurs and mixing colours into the program. Encourage him to share his knowledge of their names with others and further extend on his interests by learning some new names and facts.
Set up trucks and dinosaurs in the indoor and outdoor environments using loose parts to encourage creativity, exploration, experimentation, etc. Ask open ended questions about the experience that he is doing.
Communication strategies to assist B with his emotions:
Provide experiences where the can learn to express how he is feeling verbally
and non-verbally.
Set up experiences where the child can write letters and draw pictures to Praise and acknowledge the when he comforts his friends and verbalise what
emotions they are feeling. Positive approach is always a must.
