The Disruptors: Social Media Impact on Politics
Social Media in Business Today

and watch the News clip The Disruptors

. Based on
what you have learned in your readings on social media, do you agree or disagree with
what is being presented? The Ethics Resource Center stated that "active social networkers
show a higher tolerance for activities that could be considered unethical." What are your
thoughts on this finding? Have our politicians crossed the line? How has unethical behavior
on social media impacted a typical business of today?
After watching the video, I have to say that social media influences everything today. Today, the
generation doesn't know what it was like to have to search or information at the library or
through an actual encyclopedia. People get their news from social media and social sites and
apps instead of watching it on the news. Disruptors have become a growing phenomenon that is
shaping how people get their communications across the board. In today's society, people don't
understand that the information and how the information is presented is not good. People want
the whole raw truth, but that truth is not exactly a good representation of how things happened.
People base their actions on the information they see on social media and through social
disruptors, leading to dangerous outcomes. Unfortunately, people see what is being presented
and not knowing the whole truth, but they take what they say as truth and running with it. As for politicians using social media, I think this has gone way too far, and it starts with the
outgoing President. He has shown that he has no regard for his role in this country and this world
and abuses social media to the point that now, when he sends out incorrect information, the
social media outlets have to make sure they put out a statement stating that his comments are not
factual. If the United States president is putting out information, people are taking it for high
value because it is coming from The President. But when the comments or facts that he is
providing through social media are incorrect, it creates distrust in the news provided through
social media. News channels have to keep up with the social media outlets because more and
more people are watching their social media posts than watching their channels on the television.
