Force Field Analysis Template In the table below, list your recommendation of a social communication strategy or technology strategy for implementing the “Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) Framework for Improving Joy in Work” in the workplace. Then, list five facilitating forces and five restraining forces for and against implementing this recommendation.
Using the following scale, score each
of your facilitating and restraining forces from 1 to 5 according to the degree of influence each
force would have on your recommendation:

Staff will be given time for their voices to be heard with concerns, feedback allowing leadership to handle issues in real time
Implement a BID staff huddle before staff start shift hand off to allow employees to share concerns, celebrations, and ideas for a healthy work environment. Employees may be afraid to speak up

Create a committee that creates this structured huddle to allow the huddle to have content that is most impactful. The
committee can work through any issues or celebrations. Management is not present during evening/night hours so concerns will not be handled in real time. 3

Allow open communication of any concerns with patients such as the high fall risk patients which gives a sense to the team that the
patients are all “ours” not just “yours”. So staff is not
alone while also impacting
fall rates.
Staff may see this as a complaining opportunity which can cause a negative environment

Build the sense of team by
sharing life celebrations- birthdays, babies, weddings, etc. Hurt feelings of staff who are not recognized or if their concerns are not placed as a high priority.
